New Cottages on Caswell Transform the Heart of Narragansett Pier

Four new single-family cottages known as The Cottages on Caswell have been built on Caswell St. located in the heart of the Narragansett Pier. The new cottages are conveniently located within walking distance to the beach, dining, shops, and have transformed the neighborhood.

Originally home to several outdated, smaller houses used mainly as college rentals, the area presented a historic project that Jeff Sweenor and his team at Sweenor Builders could not turn down.

“I felt personally connected to this project, not only because I lived here during my college years at the University of Rhode Island, but also because of Narragansett’s rich history as a prominent summer destination,” said Jeff Sweenor, President and CEO of Sweenor Builders.

After acquiring the land from Davitt Design Build in 2013, Sweenor Builders built the homes with a vision to fit the fabric of the New England Victorian seaside village.

DiPrete Engineering provided surveying and design services on the project.

“We permitted and implemented low impact development stormwater techniques that added a functional and aesthetically pleasing element to the overall site design,” said Nicole Reilly, Senior Project Manager at DiPrete Engineering. “The charming design elements on both the exterior and interior create a sense of harmony with the cottages coastal community.”
