Giving Back During the Holidays

Supporting the surrounding communities and their residents is an important priority for DiPrete Engineering. This year, the DiPrete team adopted a family through the Ronald McDonald House, buying gifts over the recent holiday season. While keeping identities anonymous, the program provided employees with the family members’ wish lists that included toys, games, clothing, and gift cards.

“We had a very high participation rate this year,” said Lisa Baccari, a receptionist at DiPrete Engineering, who coordinated the gift drive. “People signed up to buy specific gifts and brought them into the office wrapped and labeled. It felt great to help out a local family during the holidays.”

Gifts were then delivered to the Ronald McDonald House in Providence the Friday before Christmas. The Ronald McDonald House provides families with a “home away from home” through the support of volunteers, staff and other guest families while their children receive medical treatment.

“We’ve been doing holiday gift drives ever since I can remember,” said Karen King, Managing Director of Administration at DiPrete Engineering. “Each year, we choose a different organization to support and the Ronald McDonald House provided an excellent opportunity to give back.”
