Unique Neighborhood Development Underway

Located off of Post Road in North Kingstown, Reynolds Farm, a new residential/commercial development, is currently undergoing three separate phases of construction through h.a. Fisher Homes, Green Hill Builders, and A.R. Building Co.

The total development covers 98.6 acres and upon completion will contain 20,000 square feet of commercial space, 220 apartments, 80 senior apartments, 41 condominiums, and 200 single-family homes.

“So far, phase one is mostly complete,” said Brian Giroux, Director of Engineering and Design at DiPrete Engineering, who has been working on Reynolds Farm since 2011. “The first homes are currently going up as part of phase two and multiple buildings are being constructed for phase three.”

The development is based on the principles of Traditional Neighborhood Design. Streets and pedestrian ways are designed to stimulate an active street community with porches close to the sidewalk and garages placed to the rear of the lot or accessed from an alleyway.

“Though it’s a traditional neighborhood development, it’s a unique project in that it’s so large scale and has multiple phases of construction taking place at the same time,” added Brian.

DiPrete Engineering provided the site engineering, and existing conditions and wetlands surveys. DiPrete also obtained permit approvals from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, and the Town of North Kingstown, for each construction phase.

Reynolds Farm is expected to continue construction over the next five to ten years.
