DiPrete Engineering’s very own Principal, Chris Duhamel, was recently elected to serve as President of the Westerly Town Council, by a 4-3 vote.

Prior to this year’s election, Chris served for over a decade on the Westerly Town Council as a member and as President and was also a member of the Town Planning Board.

A Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor, Chris serves as President of the Providence Engineering Society. Chris also teaches the Senior Civil Engineering Capstone Design class at the University of Rhode Island (URI) and serves on the RI Board of Professional Engineers and several National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) boards and committees.

“Chris’ hard work and dedication to our firm over the years has made him a leader who we all trust and respect,” said Dennis DiPrete, President of DiPrete Engineering. “The Town of Westerly will also benefit by Chris’ extensive engineering knowledge and experience. We couldn’t be prouder of Chris and his continued commitment to give back to his community.”

In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and exploring Newport with his wife, Aggie.
