For more than a decade, DiPrete Engineering has partnered with New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) to help transform and expand its East Greenwich campus, working alongside Saccoccio & Associates Architects on many of the institution’s major development projects. From the early stages of campus development to the newest academic facility now entering construction, DiPrete has provided surveying, engineering, permitting, and planning services that support NEIT’s long-term vision for growth and innovation.
One of the most significant milestones in that partnership came in 2014, when NEIT completed its move to East Greenwich. DiPrete Engineering was part of the team responsible for converting the former Brooks Pharmacy headquarters into the institution’s new academic and administrative home while helping lay the groundwork for future campus expansion. The firm’s involvement extended beyond the primary campus building, supporting the development of student housing, athletic facilities, parking infrastructure, and the utility infrastructure systems needed to accommodate a growing student population.
Working closely with the university, project team, and local officials, DiPrete assisted with water, sewer, and drainage infrastructure design, roadway improvements, emergency access planning, landscape architecture, land planning, and regulatory permitting. These efforts helped support NEIT’s vision of creating a modern, sustainable campus designed to serve students for generations to come.
Today, that partnership continues with the development of a new 46,000-square-foot Trades building on NEIT’s East Greenwich campus. The facility will provide expanded space for hands-on workforce training and technical education programs, further strengthening the university’s commitment to preparing students for careers in high-demand industries. According to DiPrete Project Manager Dana Nisbet, permitting is nearing completion and construction is expected to begin shortly thereafter. The building is anticipated to open in 2028.
